Cake It #12: AmazingPhil & Danisnotonfire Cake

The completed cake, with me too

My darling friend Laura does a lot of YouTubing and after much convincing she got me hooked into watching quite a number of YouTubers. Two in particular are amazingphil and danistnotonfire, so what way better to celebrate YouTubers by baking a cake (especially since it's Phil's birthday today)... and better yet I recorded it. So it's a cake for YouTuber's up on YouTube!

The tumblr post, with 1403 notes!

I also put it on tumblr and holy beejeebers it got a LOT of hits! Like way more than I ever expected! I really wanted to have Phil see this for his birthday, but although that didn't happen it's not the end of the world. It's one more cake down in the Cake It challenge!

Cake It #11: Woodland Trunk Cake

The Woodland Trunk Cake

I'm really getting into the whole idea of chocolate ganache! I still can't get over how amazing it tastes! Here is a teeny tiny cake, only 10cm in diameter. I'd seen some other trunk cakes floating around on pinterest and wanted to give it a go myself! So here it is!

The cake itself is chocolate, obviously with chocolate ganache, as well as some fondant decorations (including a cute bunny's bottom, aaawwww) I wanted it to follow a 'down the rabbit hole' sort of theme, as I am quite a big fan of Alice in Wonderland. Like It?

Cake It #9 & #10: I heart quick cakes

Possibly the worlds quickest iced cake

and it's counterpart, the other quickly iced cake

These were both delicious cakes with a chocolate ganache and were absolutely devine. Have I told you lately how much I adore ganache? It's like chocolate mousse... but for cakes, yum!

Sometimes it's nice not to have to have a 'perfect' cake, these only took me maybe ten minutes to ice, which in the grand scheme of things really isn't that bad. Sometimes it can take over twelve hours to ice a cake, so ten minutes is brilliant! I must say it gives it a bit of a Rustic look anyhow. It's nice to have something to take when visiting friends.

Cake It #8: Ferrari Cake

A close up of the cake

This cake was such an enjoyment to make! It was for one of my good friend's Dad. Being the cool daughter that she is (and her Mumma being the cool Mumma that she is) they threw him a surprise birthday party! The cake was chocolate with buttercream icing, along with fondant decorations. It had a ferrari sheild on the top too!
